Whether you prefer smooth sax, traditional-style jazz or a blend with contemporary pop, the National Jazz Festival Tauranga is the perfect spot for you to indulge this Easter.
From March 29-31, the Baycourt Community and Arts Centre’s X Space will take on a laidback and intimate atmosphere as the Blink Jazz Lounge - an exciting new addition to the 56th annual festival.
This 180-seat jazz club will swap the traditional theatre arrangement for tables and chairs, giving patrons the opportunity to sit back and relax with a cocktail of jazz, blues, swing and soul.
Festival director Craig Wilson says the Blink Jazz Lounge is an incredible chance to witness a diverse range of exceptional performers up-close and in person.
“From the Bay’s shining star Caitriona Fallon, to old-time Tauranga festival favourites Woody Woodhouse Connection, Bay Dixie, The BBC or the energetic swinging show of High Society, these shows are pure polish and professionalism and are sure to wow,” says Craig.
“We also have one of the most exciting ‘trad jazz’ and Dixieland bands in Melbourne’s Shiraz and a Canadian virtuoso in guitarist Joel Fafard.”
