Think ripe red cherries, plums and spice, late summer warmth, ahh Summerhouse Pinot Noir.
Heather and Meric Davies planted Summerhouse vineyard on north-facing glacial soils in 1995, and quickly established a reputation as producers of some of Marlborough's finest wines.
Summerhouse is an environmentally friendly vineyard, accredited with Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand since its inception.
Summerhouse concentrates on capturing the pure fruit flavours of the grape. They focus on quality grapes and let the fruit express itself naturally, avoiding heavy winemaking influences.
I really enjoyed this wine, well worth trying, check out the poem on the back of the label. Enjoy!
The Weekend Sun has a bottle of 2008 Summerhouse Pinot Noir to give away to lucky readers who can tell us when the Summerhouse vineyard was first planted.
Visit the competitions page for your chance to win a bottle!
