Thanks again to everyone who took part in ‘Go by Bike Day' last Wednesday. I thought you might like to know that after serving 150 people breakfast we had less than half a rubbish bag of rubbish for the tip. All the cups, spoons and bowls were composted and will biodegrade within 90 days and everything else was recycled. Great news for the environment!

We were lucky to have fantastic weather over theweekend for the Cambridge Road Park BMX Open Day on Saturday and the three hour Family Enduro event on Sunday. There was a great turnout of enthusiastic BMXers trying out the first two straights on the new BMX track at Cambridge Road Park. Construction on the track is looking great and the club is hoping to have it completed in the next six months.

On Sunday, a number of keen cyclists registered for the three hour Mountain Bike enduro event. Most participants signed up to the challenge individually looking to complete the 7km loop track as many times as possible. The winner, Kris Snow, completed nine laps in the three hour time period totalling 54kms. A big thanks to Cycle Obsession for sponsoring some fantastic prizes for the event.

It's a jam packed week with 10 different Bike Wise events on this week so check out the calendar to see what you can take part in. I will also keep you up to date in my blogs this week.

Tonight at Summerhill Recreational Park Farm is the final Mountain Bike Summer Series race as part of Bike Wise. This is a great chance to have a go at racing in a casual, friendly environment. Registrations start from 6pm, so bring your helmet and bike up and have a go.

New to Bike Wise month is the Tykes on Trikes event on Friday at Memorial Park. This is a fun event for under-5s, bring the littlies along with their bikes to have a go on our circuit course. Decorate the bikes and be in to win some great prizes!
