The Hedgehog (M)

French comedy-drama about Paloma – a serious, but deeply bored 11-year-old who has decided to kill herself on her 12th birthday. Fascinated by art and philosophy, she questions and documents her life, drawing and video taping observations on the world around her.

But as her appointment with death approaches, Paloma meets some kindred spirits in her building's grumpy concierge (Josiane Balasko), and an enigmatic, elegant neighbour (Togo Igawa), both of whom inspire Paloma to question her rather pessimistic outlook on life.
Adapted from the best-seller, The Elegance of the Hedgehog, by French novelist and philosopher Muriel Barbery.
The Weekend Sun has two double passes to The Hedgehog to give away to lucky readers who can tell us the author of The Elegance of the Hedgehog.
