Living in a great spot like Tauranga (current environmental crisis aside) means we have lots of people that want to move here. I can't blame them; the weather, the sun and the people all make for a compelling case.
So much so that not only do people move here from other parts of our fine country, but we do get a number from other parts of the world. Tauranga is fortunate in this situation as we often get skilled people with the energy and drive to share these skills with us, making for a better community. Many of these people have interesting issues in the area of financial advice.
One such area is UK Pension Transfers. Without wanting to give any advice, I would have to say this is a complicated area. If you have permanently emigrated to this country from the UK and you seek advice, make sure you take the time to read it. Many people are keen to transfer their pension, however, the current currency cross rate has become a stumbling block.
There are many other issues to consider depending on the type of pension the person has. If you would like some advice in this area, including ways of overcoming the cross rate issue, please feel free to contact me directly.
