This award will be particularly fantastic for Claire and Brian, who sadly could not attend the ceremony. It shows that on the web, content still matters.
And that is the real magic of SunLive.
Content: local, immediate, important and most importantly from and for the community.
I remember the enthusiasm, which I felt within minutes of first talking to Claire and Brian about making the site a reality.
They knew what they wanted to achieve, it was up to me and ID to help them do so.
But that aspect is not what actually makes the site so special. In fact, compared to some sites around it is technically very simple. But that is part of the strength, it concentrates on the content and readability. It delivers the news and keeps that as its main focus.
As the web evolves and the ways we consume content changes, one thing will remain the same, great content will always have appeal and value. SunLive has proved it can deliver on that which means it has many years ahead delivering the news through its main site and any other new way which can add value to that.
