I am hoping that after last week's blog you have all set yourself weekly goals and took me up on my challenge to do at least some form of exercise around our beautiful city.
So this week we shall have a quick look at your diet. I don't want 2010 to be the year of the drastic and radical diet plan as this will not work.
If you resolve yourself to the latest and greatest new age diet phase you are destined to fail. By stopping eating certain foods altogether your body will go into a crave mode and the desire for those foods become too intense to surpass - then the vicious circle of 'Yoyo dieting' happens.
What we need is to see a healthy eating plan put in place. This allows you to eat a nutritionally balanced diet that covers all food groups correctly, however, also gives you the versatility to have a little treat of chocolate or cheesecake every now and then. As long as we learn how to control the amount and frequency of these wee treats then LIFE should be fantastic.
Easy starting hints are to replace dark blue milk with trim. If you have to have fizzy drink then change to the zero brand and replace white bread with wholemeal. Alcohol consumption will also play a major part in this, especially if you are trying to drop a few kilos! In which case the occasional red wine will suffice, but you must remain very careful and aware of excess consumption.
Support groups are very beneficial when you are trying to achieve a weight loss, fat loss or consistent eating and exercise plan. LIFE Personal Fitness 'Bootcamps' allow a motivating, inspiring group of individuals the ability to work together to achieve their goals, much the same as weightwatchers works!
Let this week be the week of awareness on our diet - don't forbid the food just control how you eat it!
