All Saint Clair Family Estate wines are selected via a unique quality assessment system.

This process starts with open minded quality viticulture and continues in the winery, where 250 small tanks are used for fermentation. The final wine is determined through a blind tasting process, carried out by a winemaking panel.

Pioneer Block wines are made from outstanding small parcels of fruit, identified by Saint Clair's winemakers from selected specialist vineyard sites in the Marlborough region. Over time, a number of sites have been identified that provide the ideal terroir to produce superior wines.

The fruit comes from a selection of moderate fertility vineyards in the Marlboroughs Wairau and Awatere Valleys. The grapes were carefully monitored during maturing to ensure they were harvested at the peak of flavour development and ripeness.

After pressing and cold settling, the resulting clear juice was fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to help retain purity of flavour.

Saint Clair Marlborough Premium Pinot Gris is ideal to be enjoyed with lightly spiced Asian curries or creamy mushroom dishes.
