| Dawn hopes her passion and creative flare in the kitchen leads you to try these recipes – some new, some traditional and some all time favourites. |
On Saturday, LIFE personal fitness ran a very successful sports day with various triathlon/duathlon and biking events.
As with everything we are trying to achieve a 'point of difference' in the personal training area so after the events along with fresh fruit (Mt New World) and water, we had some homemade baking to enjoy also. After many positive comments and requests for this recipe, I have decided to print the muesli slice (although I am not saying it is healthy, but it is tasty) and next week the healthy banana cake. Please enjoy this - it is so easy that it will be a family favourite in no time.
4 cups rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons golden syrup
1 cup sultanas
250grams butter
Melt together butter, sugar and golden syrup in a pot. Add dry ingredients and press into a greased sponge roll slice tin.
Cook for 15 minutes at 180C.
Variations to this can be chopped nuts, pumpkin, sesame or sunflower seeds, dried apricots, cranberries or raisins.
