Hi, well I hope you all enjoyed the running challenge last week. It was a great lead in to this week's LIFE Fitness Camp training which was Week 3 – Cardio Week.
We are working on a variety of different exercises and stations with the main objective being cardio.

Although the training room is set up in a different order each week, some things never change and ‘the creatures of habit' all migrate towards the same back corner of the room weekly – except this week I have captured the moment on film for you all to see!
As the session begins, everybody soon realises that this training is not going to be easy as the cardio starts out with full on intensity with the running pace set and expectations from me are high as I need this stamina to lead us to the end of the 10 weeks.
Some of the relatively quiet girls have really stepped up as their fitness has already increased and they are comfortable running outside in open air around the block where I have sent them. Some of the stronger weight lifting men realise that cardio is an area they definitely need to work harder on!
The variety of stations I have set up for this week involve interval training whilst still maintaining a strong emphasis on posture and technique. After the groups have completed their intensive 15 minute station then I send them outside again for a 1km run around the block, back inside water, then moved to the next station and back again outside to run! Whew, and just when they thought it was over and they started a new station after five minutes. SURPRISE out they go again to run!
No-one complains, however, as that would mean instant punishment for the entire group in the form of burpees!
As we are stretching at the end of the session I advise everybody on some training ideas for the long weekend to those who are going away. As they don't want to miss any sessions I find that most of the group will come home hours earlier from holiday so they don't miss Monday afternoon's special training!
