As we enter week four we dream of a big six-pack, but this is a challenge to achieve as much of New Zealand's winter leads us to want to cover up our entire body and have a nice glass of wine and winter warm-up comfort food.

Okay dear friends, welcome to one of the most important and principled trainings for all those who want to achieve results and look great – core and flexibility. This week at 6am Monday morning it was great to see many motivated people excited to be here for core work on the Queen's Birthday and in the massive rain with over 24 clients turning up to work extremely hard on their core.
When I arrived I realised how the fitness camp is a very important aspect of these people's lives now. I also thought that as it was a holiday most people would have been going for breakfast and consuming excess calories and sitting back and watching television for the rest of the day.
I feel very happy in the knowledge that at least 26 people won't be in this boat as these people are all focused on their lifestyle and their new lifestyle changes through their LIFE personal fitness training regime.
My next training session was a bit of drama though as we had to change the time to 3pm and we decided to join our Fitness and Corporate camps together and have around 30-50 people. As it was a holiday, if at least 15 turned up I would have been happy, however, once I drove into Baywave CLUB Fit car park I realised that either the pool is busy on this beautiful afternoon after the stormy start to the day or all these cars are here for me! Once I walk into the gym I was surprised to see how many people decided to cut their holiday short and include the session in their plan.
Out of my expectations for 15 people I was happy to count 42 people. Yes! Believe it or not!
Once the training session was about to start I realised how beautiful the day is outside so I thought we should go for a quick jog and then the expression on their faces changed drastically as I reminded them not just because its Queen's Birthday to not just come here to make you feel better – you need to work hard as well. So at this point the quick jog turned into a 2.5km run!!!! Then we headed back to the room for core and flexibility workout. We did cardio last week, so before they say anything I quickly explain to them that there is no such thing as just core and flexibility and although we focus on those two targets, it doesn't mean we are not going to do anything else!
My big concern when people do sit-ups is how to control their breathing and their posture and be as relaxed as possible on the neck. But, you must remember if you are a beginner your neck muscles tend to be stronger than your core. The reason for this is because you have not been working your core and lower back so the sensation of having a stiff neck muscle is going to stay until you get yourself on an abdominal routine. This is my recommendation for all the beginners, two times a day five minutes each time, focus and core. If you have no idea how to exercise please contact me on my email luismoresko@hotmail.com or any exercise specialist that you trust and ask for advice.
