As we said last week, this week is all about lower body (legs). A lot of the ladies from fitness camp are looking for this training as they want to tone legs. As a matter of fact, our legs are most important for a lot of life's tasks; running, walking, driving, swimming and most importantly playing with our children. To do all of this we need to be strong and fit in our lower body.
After last week's core and stretch training, this week we decide to get a little bit aggressive and bring back the muscle fatigue feeling into our legs.
As we begin, a lot of my dear friend campers now realise that it is not going to be an easy session. Once we are through the first training on Monday morning, the feedback from my clients was contradictory as I still feel my legs three days after, whilst others say theirs haven't stopped hurting! These comments reflect in my head and one of the conclusions that I drew was: as individuals they all have expectations and goals for themselves. Some like to be pushed hard and are happy with the muscle fatigue sensation whilst others dislike the feeling. As we know, the only way is to do hard work and from the saying ‘No Pain No Gain' they can then strive to achieve their goals
Now at the second training of the week, which I was really looking forward to as I knew I had to use all my expertise and creativity to give the best workout for legs that these members have ever done, while at the same time being consistent with the quality of my programme. So on this day, I actually start feeling some of these people don't love me anymore!
The third session I decide to arrive late to see if they have used their prior knowledge and started to warm up. When I finally get to the gym I was surprised to see everybody warmed up and ready to rock! So I decide to play a little game that worked out really well for me, but not the participants, as the pain and fatigue was intense.
When the session was over, the goal was reached which was to give them all the tools to achieve a great leg workout.
I welcome you all next week to join us on the journey to get the upper body toned – arms.
