Over the past 15 years I would have spoken to thousands of people who have made significant improvements to their health by changing nutrient levels.
Nutrition and health are finely balanced. We can ignore the basic rules of nutrition and for a while it will seem that there are few consequences.

Given enough time though, serious consequences will show as any number of degenerative diseases.
Every person involved in health agrees that nutrition is the foundation of our health. Where the discussion begins is whether nutritional therapy can actually help prevent disease and even more can help the body to fight against existing disease processes. One of the more consistent reports we have had over the years is from people who tell us they have had real improvements in their eye health.
At the moment I am helping someone with advanced Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). This had advanced to the point that one eye was really struggling and the good eye was also steadily deteriorating. There is a significant body of research linking low levels of carotenoids antioxidants especially lutein and zeaxanthin to AMD. These antioxidants are found in egg yolks and most brightly coloured and dark green fruit and vegetables. The eye has the highest concentrations of these potent protectors where they help to protect by absorbing dangerous blue light and protecting the macula from free radical damage.
We introduced more eggs and lots of fruit and vegetables and a daily antioxidant supplement that in addition to all the minerals, vitamins and antioxidant groups was high in lutein, other carotenoids plus the micro-vascular protectors' bilberry and grape seed flavanols. We also boosted anti-inflammatory Omega 3 from fish oil to help reduce localised inflammation. As a result after a year or so the bad eye had almost stopped degenerating and the good eye has steadily improved. His medical specialists were very impressed at the changes. As a side note, it is gratifying to see that many eye specialists advocate nutritional therapy – probably more so that other branches of medicine.
Again we can see the healing power of the human body. Supply the nutrients needed from good food and well formulated supplements and dormant healing processes can begin the healing process.
