Yes it is all true, the word has finally got through, us chocolate Labradors are the movers and shakers in my world.
People finally realised this when they saw me shaking my booty on the dance floor at No.1 The Strand on Sunday. Talk about getting down and dirty, even my new best friend 'Daz” came out of the kitchen to witness my moves. As much as I am impressed with his food he was pretty impressed with my impersonations of Patrick Swayze. I told the boss I am on a fitness regime (another) and was not trying to seduce all the females, his only comment was, yeah right! I am looking forward with relish (not Daz's) to this weekend so I can polish up my act, something the boss thinks I should have been doing years ago. Enough said. Anyway if you want a little fun on a Sunday afternoon get down to see us.
Now it's time to mention my other mate Johnny Boy who probably practices his moves in the chiller at that great Aussie Butcher shop in Gate Pa. I don't really blame him, if I was let loose in his chiller the only thing moving would be my jaws. But alas, a chance would be a fine thing.
Get along and see him anyway as that big day when the twolegger in the red suit (no not Rodders, his is yellow) appears is rapidly approaching and he can still get your hams and turkeys to you in time for the big day.
This week the boy has chicken drum sticks on special so I thought we should give this a whirl, (get it) sick I know.
'She's got Legs'
Ingredients
4-6 Tbsp basil pesto
6-8 chicken drumsticks
½ cup milk
1 cup dried breadcrumbs
Salt & pepper to taste
Spray Oil
Method
Stuff a little of the pesto under the skin of each piece of chicken. Dip in milk, then in salt & pepper. Place on an oiled oven tray. Spray the chicken lightly with oil.
Preheat the oven grill to 200 degrees Celsius and grill for 10 minutes.
Turn the pieces over, sprinkle with a few more crumbs if required and lightly spray with oil every few minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Serve with a salad of olives and cherry tomatoes.
'Brave Bull'
Ingredients
1 ½ shots tequila
1 ½ shots kahlua
Pour tequila over ice cubes in an old fashioned glass.
Pour Kahlua through the tequila.
Do not stir or shake. Serve with a short straw. Sip from the bottom up and mix in your mouth.
That's all from me for another week as I must go and rest in the goldfish pond as this humidity is a little hard on an old fella.
Just remember if you would like a good time on a Sunday afternoon get along little doggies to No.1 The Strand and remember do it to them before they do it to you.
