A few good twoleggers out there will be mourning the passing of Michael. It did not take long for the jokes to start circulating and the legal fraternity to start bickering.
The best joke I heard was the lawyers could not decide if he should be buried or put out with the plastic recycling. Hmm. Take it as you will.
And why did he wear only one glove? I thought he must be having a little trouble, like the staff down here at The Strand, with my young ‘cuzz' stealing only one slipper at a time. It's quite funny to see them walking around with odd footwear. Odd probably pretty much sums up the moon walker. We in the canine world thought he was extremely talented but his penchant for the extreme was only matched by my appetite.
Now on to more mundane things - like those pesky Italians. I thought they were supposed to capitulate and roll over meekly, not put up a fight. I say ‘Bring Back Buck', as there is nothing like a kick in the goolies to get one fired up. (A little eye massaging is not the same.)
Man, the boys in black sure do need it before they face the ‘Sheep Shaggers' and the Vortrekkers. As I have said to the headmaster, just call me and I will dust off my boots to help the cause.
Now on to my favourite part of the week - waxing lyrical about my old mate Johnny, the Aussie Butcher. This boy sure knows how to get people into his shop. It is not just the quality of his meat, (as his good wife Raewyn will attest to) but his specials. And he has some goodies in store this week.
'Glazed and blazed'
Ingredients
1 kg chicken drumsticks
3Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp chilli sauce
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp ginger
1/8 tsp garlic powder
Method
Wash drumsticks and pat dry with paper towels. Place in an ungreased baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over drumsticks. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
Heat oven to 180C. Transfer drumsticks with tongs onto a rack in the broiler pan and brush with remaining sauce from the baking dish. (If your broiler isn't easy to clean, line it with aluminium foil or place a baking sheet a few racks down in the oven to catch the drippings.) Bake for 50-60 minutes or until tender.
