Exercise with purpose

Welcome to the second week of the fitness camp. One of the important things about this week is the knowledge and sensation you are getting after just one week as we must remember some of these people have never done exercise before!

As on the first week a lot of people feel like the exercise was really complex and hard to follow as we all know our brain works better on repetitive movements. So when this week started we used basically the same exercises as last week, but on different set ups.
In the second week, all my attention was about posture and technique and I was really surprised after half an hour of training how confident everybody is feeling because they are starting to understand how to do exercise and also because they are starting to get a little bit fitter. The big thing this week is to see how people change their posture when walking in to the room. This week we have pushed the fitness up with the idea to give all members a little bit of a challenge, not just physical, but mental also.
And this week the biggest point we took was to use free time; there is nothing worse than wasting our precious minutes in such frustration clock crushers as traffic jams – then put on hold, and toilet queues. Fortunately when you come to fitness you can benefit from exercise sessions at any length, whether you have 10 minutes or 60, but only if you know the best ways to maximise your time and organise your workouts.
The options to maximise your exercise in a small time is too combine exercises together which can be strength and strain. An example is 2-3 sets of squats and straight away walking lunges so you can warm your muscles as you stretch. A second option for 10 minutes of exercise is to work with your balance and strength which we call ‘get balanced!' One good example is overhead broomstick squats; you hold the stick above your head with your arms straight, with stick in line with your hips and heels, use your core to stabilise your body as you sink down and press up.
So hopefully this will help and remember we can always find an excuse to not exercise, but we must remember Albert Einstein, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Michael Jordan as all these people had and have the same amount of hours in a day as you – so try to make the most that you can.
PS As I said last week, you will receive the challenge. The challenge is going to be held on Sunday September 12 at 10am. Starting point for the challenge is Mt Surf Club. You will see a teardrop from LIFE Personal Fitness and the challenge is… Leave from the surf club, go around the Mount, up the Mount, down to Leisure Island and up to the end and back to the surf club. Everybody who crosses the line before two hours I will guarantee one hour personal training session with me valued at $75. Good Luck and please email me to confirm your presence luismoresko@hotmail.com and REMEMBER THIS IS FREE OF CHARGE – so let's do this!
