This Mahi 2008 Sauvignon Blanc rates right up there
with me. I am not a huge Sauvignon Blanc fan, but this very stylish Sauvignon has me converted.
The lovely combination of fruit characters, a small amount of oak barrel and some wild yeast notes works well, resulting in a complex style of Sauvignon Blanc.
You need to try this wine. It exudes layers of textures and works well with all sorts of food. It is not available from supermarkets, so check out your fine wine stores. I am sure Karo at Gambino's on Grey Street will be able help you out. Enjoy – and check out the SunLive video of my wine interview with Mahi's winemaker, Brian Bicknell, where he shares a little of his vast knowledge.
