Have you ever tried running up your living room wall?
'Leo' has, and in a surprising, heartwarming and witty one-man show coming to the Tauranga Arts Festival from Germany, our hero defies the laws of gravity thanks to a ground-breaking stage concept and ingenious video projections.
Festival director Jo Bond, who booked the show after seeing it overseas, says 'Leo' leaves audience members wondering which way is up.
'Leo' won three awards at its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011 and was invited to Broadway where it played to packed houses and glowing reviews.
'It's such a hard show to explain,” Jo says, 'but it's one of the best things I've ever seen. It is so visually clever, yet the story has real inventiveness about it too.”
Leo is at Baycourt on October 27 (6pm) and October 28 (1pm and 6pm).
Tauranga Arts Festival organisers are urging people not to miss out on special offers for ticket prices. The discount for TECT card-holders – which represents substantial savings on the first two tickets purchased across all shows, including the luminarium – ends on October 7.
