Enhancing a quality of life we can all be proud of

Tourism Bay of Plenty

A relaxed lifestyle set against the backdrop of a warm climate, pristine beaches and a rapidly growing city of opportunities.

It's no surprise Tauranga topped the list for a good quality of life in a recent nationwide survey.

In total, 91 per cent of the 560 locals interviewed for the 2018 Quality of Life Survey rated their quality of life between good and extremely good.

It's an impressive result that shows there truly is no place like home – especially right here in the coastal Bay of Plenty.

While this is great, we must work to preserve, and ultimately enhance, this reputation.

Because while the promotion of our region to domestic and international visitors is vital, it is equally important to build upon our history and cultural roots to create an environment where we are all fiercely proud to call the Bay of Plenty home.

Which is why at Tourism Bay of Plenty we are committed to helping harness this local pride and for our local economy to really prosper.

This includes recruiting product developers to help enhance the coastal Bay of Plenty's unique and resourceful offering, to increasing our storytelling capabilities through sites such as: noplacelikehome.co.nz and reducing the impacts of seasonality by growing tourism throughout the year, with the right visitors at the right time.

Plus, we are supporting our tourism operators to adopt Tourism Industry Aotearoa's
New Zealand Tourism Sustainability Commitment, which aims to see every Kiwi tourism business committed to sustainability by 2025.
