The Jig from Wish4Fish |
Greetings fishos, I hope the week in the Bay of Plenty served you well!
Just a reminder now that we are in November. Please get your fishing photos in to SunLive as we have a monthly competition, and the winner receives $50 worth of Wish 4 Fish Terminal Tackle, kindly supported by Centurion Fishing.
As my role as patron of Wish 4 Fish Charitable Trust I spent the weekend involved in the first of many fundraising fishing competitions for Wish 4 Fish. This was based in Thames and was open to the whole of the Coromandel, however we did receive excellent support from fishos in the Bay of Plenty. With 55 supportive entries the competition was a great success, with some fantastic snapper caught around the 5kg mark. Due to the success of this competition, we will be holding another competition out of Tauranga, in the month of February 2013. Please look out for entry form and information over the coming weeks.
Luke from Fixation had an overnight charter out at Mayor Island over the weekend. The Mayor Island Knolls produced reasonable sized hapuku and bluenose, fishing with deep water dropper rigs, between depths of 200-300m. Mayor Island also produced a great mixed catch of snapper, tarakihi, pink maomao and trevally.
Finally the Tauranga Boat Expo and Water Festival is on at The Strand waterfront; Friday November 2 from 10am-6pm, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 10am-4pm. Adults $5 entry fee, school aged children get in free.
Please come down and check out the Wish4fish and Centurion tackle team.
A reel expert can tackle anything.
The Jig.
