News Hound Ady & Flo www.sunlive.co.nz |
Chasing and biting the yellow ball is my favourite pastime. Well, at least of the pastimes I'm allowed to have. Chasing the yellow ball actually ranks third behind:
1. Sneaking upstairs to the boss's waterbed for an afternoon nap; and
2. Getting Ady on the other end of Uncle's sock and seeing if we can stretch it long enough for it to turn into pantyhose.
So when the boss gets the yellow ball out, it's time for major excitement in our house.
However, lately he's been getting quite a lot of amusement from switching the yellow ball for a lemon.
Now I don't know how many of you out there in Sun land are in the habit of chasing and biting lemons. Not many, if any.
But let me assure you, chasing a ball flat stick and biting into it, then finding it's a lemon, is cause for serious concern.
These yellow balls bite back!
So while I'm growling and yelping, with my face contorted and the acidic juice driving me nuts, the boss is howling and chortling in childlike amusement.
Once was funny. I'll give him that. But do we have to make fun of the dog with a lemon every day?
The dog always gets the last laugh, however.
I want to be around when he gets into bed tonight and finds a half-chewed lemon on his pillow.
Suck on that.
Meanwhile, summer is here and the newshounds have been getting out there with our best buddies. Here's a beachy pic of sexy Lexy, who might be little and cute but is a mongrel when it comes to chasing sticks in the surf.

Till then, beware the rolling lemons. Catch you next week. Flo.
