Small changes for big returns

Imagine that as a nation we committed ourselves to being healthy with the same vigour as our passion for Lotto.

All of us want to win the big one and we are prepared to part with hard-earned cash for the chance of winning the big one. Making positive health choices is the exact opposite. It takes some sacrifice and discipline to make healthy choices.

Throughout 2012 I gave personalised health advice to around 500 people and have had the privilege to see so many make positive improvements in many areas of their health. Most of these clients they have made changes to the way they live their lives and as a result made often big improvements.

This can be anything from minor variations, such as replacing their inflammatory vegetable oil cooking oils to one that reduces inflammation. For others it is a completely new way of eating, replacing their nutrient poor, refined carbohydrate and high sugar diet with one that lowers the risk of disease. There has also been a financial sacrifice because good food is unfortunately more expensive. To this we need to add the cost of high quality supplements that have the power to help restore damaged body processes.

The pay-off though can be huge. One person I have been helping had a number of health problems including low energy, joint and body pain, and generally feeling miserable. Within three months he rates he has had a 75 per cent improvement in most areas of his health. It is all pretty simple really: be prepared to make the often small changes and you may well get some very big returns. There is no need to rely on chance. This is good nutritional science applied to a receptive person ready to make the necessary commitments.

As we move into 2013 this is the perfect time to commit yourself to making the changes that can result in significant improvements to your quality of life. Please do not fall into the trap of thinking you are too old, too young or too sick. Almost everyone can get improvements if they are willing to follow a simple plan to help re-build and restore body systems that have been damaged by disease and poor nutrition.
