The dog pool is going swimmingly well, thanks. Keeping cool till after school has never been so easy.
All we need now is a little poodle in a maid's outfit, bringing around the drinks and snacks.
Ady and I have been doing a bit of light reading this summer. Well, the boss has been doing the reading, we've just been chewing the books and making sure the pages are dog eared.
Here are some gems:
"Dogs need to sniff the ground; it's how they keep abreast of current events. The ground is a giant dog newspaper, containing all kinds of late-breaking dog news items, which, if they are especially urgent, are often continued in the next yard."
--Dave Barry
"A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down."
-- Robert Benchley
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."
-- Josh Billings
"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."
-- Dereke Bruce, Taipei, Taiwan
We've had a good response to a call for photos of your dogs enjoying summer in the bay. Keep them coming!
This photo was sent in by a keen reader. 'What did they not understand about PADDLING POOL?”
