Whenever I start with a new client, I explain their situation is like an old-fashioned set of scales that is
out of balance.
Ideally, the human body should be in balance with negative forces, such as free radicals and inflammation, and counter balanced by a healthy immune system and antioxidant defences.
Long term health problems are like weights on one bad side of the scale that overwhelm our healing processes, resulting in the symptoms we feel.
My role as a nutritional medicine practitioner is to create a programme that helps put weights on the good side of the scales. After a full assessment, including the latest medical diagnosis, we review diet, lifestyle and other factors contributing to the problem.
I find many people are making a real attempt to eat more healthy options, so dietary changes are often a fine tune.
In most cases, I use supplements based on foundational products like a good multi antioxidant/mineral/vitamin and beneficial oils. I always review vitamin D, as researchers have identified if we have sufficient amounts, it acts like a steroid hormone influencing important body defences, including immune response and very importantly our cancer defences.
From here, I often add specific supplements to the foundational support. This can be anything from extra vitamin C through to additional antioxidants or anti-inflammatory compounds, to potent supplements that can influence our energy systems.
By doing this, we can start to add weights to the scale and this may, over time, restore some sort of balance to a body that was previously unable to cope
with disease.
If you are unwell it just may be time to tip the scales in your favour. Give me a call if you need more information. To join my weekly newsletter go to: www.johnarts.co.nz and visit: www.abundant.co.nz
