With crisp mornings at the moment, and an abundance of apples and fresh fruit available, why not create ‘Fashion-Martinis' at home?
The ‘Fashion-Martini' was created to pacify the ‘Martini Purists', who said: 'All martinis must contain gin”, so new, exciting and eclectic products could be used to create fantastic martini-style cocktails.
Take a half cup of fresh fruit, for example sliced apples or berries or melon. Add 30ml of vodka or rum or schnapps, then add 90ml of juice with fresh ice into a cocktail shaker and shake like there's no-one watching and then strain into a chilled glass.
And enjoy, because the ‘Fashion-Martini' is designed to tempt the palate and open your taste buds.
Try adding spices or even certain herbs to create your own signature ‘Fashion-Martini' to serve to your family or friends at home. And because the ‘Fashion-Martini' is about creativity, you can use what's available in your cabinet as an alcoholic base.
At The Phoenix we've created a twist on the ‘Apple-tini', using Havana Club gold rum, shaved cinnamon and apple pearls. If you want to find out what an apple pearl is, drop in and try an ‘Apple Bomb'.
