Networks and mentors

Gerard Casey

Over the last couple of days I have had reason to celebrate the fact that I have a great network and bunch of supporters.

Despite my children thinking that I know everything, yeah right, I do not believe that I know it all.

In fact I would have to say that possibly I am probably a great copier of success. I have always believed there was never a need to reinvent the wheel.

Today I had a friend of mine who was having some business issues and was looking for a solution.

I was able to make a phone call and connect the person through my networks and get the right answers.

Yesterday a governance issue was causing a concern and through my networks I was able to get the views of five highly capable colleagues that I was able to build a business case around.

It brought home to me the fact that successful people are only to willing to share their expertise.

I will hasten to add that the relationships are not all about me taking all the time.

Some of these colleagues have reached out for advice that I have been willing to share.

To me my networks are a valuable and I continue to nurture and feed them.

So my advice to businesses is: Don't be scared to reach out.

It will help you build a better Business and may even make you a better person.
