Tucked away in Greerton is a secret oasis for thread-keen crafters.
StitchMakers, inside the Greerton Lotto shop on Cameron Rd, is a jackpot for experienced stitchers and embroiderers and newbies alike.
“When Bernina moved I took over the embroidery stock,” says owner Belinda Sands.
“I have worked really hard over the past two years and now stock an incredible range of different threads, fabrics, books and other sewing lines.”
They have a great website – at: www.stitchmakers.co.nz – which shows what they have in-store.
“I also have very active Instagram and Facebook pages – on Instagram being @stitchmakers_nz and on Facebook being @stitchmakers
“I would love people to follow my shop on there to see what is happening in-store.”
Belinda now runs classes of the Sue Spargo Chirp Wallhanging.
“I make kits for each block so they can be purchased as you stitch.
“You can join in at any time and the classes will be running all year and then into next if needed.
"You can choose to take part in the classes or make it yourself at home."
“All the information is on the website under classes, along with the kits you need to purchase the pattern book which we stock."
“We carry all of the Sue Spargo lines and this is growing all of the time.”
