Moving production in city this Anzac Day

Presented by Tuatara Collective, production For The Fallen will performed in Tauranga City on April 25 by a cast of local rangatahi (youth) from Tauranga Moana.

A moving tribute to commemorate Anzac Day will performed in the city tomorrow, April 25 by a cast of local rangatahi (youth) from Tauranga Moana.

Presented by the Tuatara Collective, production For The Fallen will transport audiences to the taverns and public houses of Europe and North Africa during World War I and World War II, from Italy and Crete to Greece and Turkey.

Through stirring wartime songs, dance and haka, the performance weaves together letters from the front, personal accounts from local veterans and poetry by celebrated Aotearoa writer Alistair Te Ariki Campbell.

Kaupapa Māori-led creative organisation the Tuatara Collective will offer two ticketed afternoon shows at 2pm and 4.30pm at the Baycourt Community and Arts Centre.

The Tuatara Collective has developed the Rātā initiative, an innovative arts practice supporting mental health in the arts industry for artists and audiences. This includes having mental health professionals present at every performance for the audience to engage with, as well as offering wānanga (seminars) and training to the cast and crew during and after the project.

Show tickets cost $15-$35 – book at: https://www.tuataracollective.com/forthefallen.
