Silversea's 2014 programme

Exclusive luxury cruise line company Silversea has just revealed details of its 2014 cruise programme.

The programme includes new cruises on Silver Whisper though the South Pacific, French Polynesia, Northwest Passage, Russian Far East and Japan, and 87 new ports of call for Silver Explorer.

Another major highlight is Silver Whisper's 113-day world voyage via Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Australia and Asia, with three days in Myanmar, before sailing back to Barcelona.

Silversea is also offering a limited-time 10 per cent discount for customers who book two or more back-to-back sailings, and a Fare Guarantee Programme where passengers can book early but also take advantage of reduced fare deals before they sail.

Other 2014 destinations includethe Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Baltic, Africa, Alaska, South America, Caribbean and Panama Canal, Canada and New England, a 15-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, and a 13-day sailing across the Pacific from Tokyo to Seward.

Orion slashes its fares

Orion Expedition Cruises is reducing its fares by 25 per cent on all its Orion Kimberley cruises for all early-bird bookings for cruises between Darwin and Perth.

And as an extra, passengers will also get a free scenic flight over the Bungle Bungle ranges.

The 25 per cent discount will run out by 30 November but if you miss this deadline, you'll still be in for a reduced discount.

Sea Cloud's Central America exclusive

Sea Cloud Cruises is set to release a brochure exclusively for Caribbean and Central America cruises.

The move is in response to Australasians' increasing interest in and demand for cruises to the two regions.

There's a total of 15 cruises in the brochure, from seven to 14-nights, sailing the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean between December 2012 and April 2013.

The voyages will take in the natural parks of Costa Rica and Panama, as well as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Cuba, the world's second largest coral reef in Belize and ancient Mayan treasures in Mexico.

Disney's Jamaica debut

Disney Cruise Line aficionados are about to get a new itinerary – to Jamaica.

Jamaica is a first for the cruise line, with seven-night sailings departing from Galveston, Texas.

The sailings will include calls in Falmouth, Jamaica, as well as three days at sea, a stop in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and a stop in Cozumel, Mexico.

Departure dates for the new itinerary include 05 and 19 October and 02, 16 and 30 November 2013.

Meanwhile, the cruise line will also offer new 2013 seven-night Bahamas voyages from Galveston to Key West, Castaway Cay and Nassau.

Getaway's new keel

Norwegian Getaway has just had its keel laid – which means the construction of the new ship is under way.

The construction of Getaway should be finished mid-January 2014 and, as Norwegian's CEO, Kevin Sheehan, told Cruise Weekly, it's a very exciting time.

'The start of the block assembly is an extremely significant milestone and we eagerly anticipate the delivery of Norwegian Getaway,” he added.
