Sharing little secrets

Welcome back to ‘the Glass Half Full'.

Firstly, I wish to send out a big thanks to all those who read my column last fortnight and took the time to send me your fantastic suggestions on who and what you would like to read about during the next few editions. This week there's a little secret I want to share about a local business that's starting to make headlines throughout the country. 'It all started in the backyard of a Te Puna distillery 10 years ago.” That's right. I'm talking about Distillerie Deinlein, the creators of the famous 8th Tribe liqueur range. Driven by a hard-working family, who excels in quality, they have created famous liqueurs, like the green and gold kiwifruit, the stunning feijoa liqueur, lemon cello and my personal favourite the spiced liqueur. All of these are proudly served at The Phoenix and can be served on their own, over ice or used to make spectacular cocktails. It's passion, dedication, 80 years of family traditions and a great deal of fruit sourced from right here from the Bay of Plenty which helps create this winning formula for Distillerie Deinlein. Alternatively, check out their amazing products online at: www.distillerie.co.nz. Here's my little winter warmer you can try at home. Add 30ml of 8th tribe spiced liqueur, 30ml of lemon cello, 2 squeezed lime segments and crushed ice put in a glass. Top with L&P, stir and enjoy. Congratulations to Georgeina Hawkes who suggested talking about innovative ways to recycle waste materials in the home and is last week's winner.
